Face-to-face counselling offers several unique benefits that come from being physically present with a therapist. Being in the same room helps many people feel more supported and understood. Subtle cues — eye contact, body language, tone — are easier for both you and the therapist to pick up on, strengthening trust and rapport. Without the lag or limitations of screens, in-person communication flows more smoothly. Therapists can respond to non-verbal cues instantly and accurately. It is often preferred to be face to face for trauma processing and deep relational work.

Many people prefer online counselling for a number of reasons - it is convenient and removes having to factor in travel. It offers flexibility and many people feel more at ease opening up when they’re in their own environment. Online appointments reduce the anxiety of sitting in a traditional therapy office, and sessions can be more discreet with no risk of running into someone. To get the best out of your counselling though, we do ask that you are in a safe and quiet space where you can concentrate and will not be interrupted.

Walk-and-talk counselling (also called outdoor therapy or nature-based therapy) combines traditional counselling with gentle walking in an outdoor setting. Many clients find it grounding, less intimidating, and more expressive than sitting indoors. Many find movement outdoors improves their mood, energy, ability to focus on mindfulness and it also supports physical wellbeing. We often find that this improves the relationship between counsellor and client, as they form a collaborative side by side bond.
At your initial consultation we will discuss the types of counselling available and which is most likely to suit you, your needs and your challenges. These could include:

Thank you so much for your guidance.
